Description

The 1-piece driveshaft for the Subaru WRX STI is a 3″ 6061-T6 aluminum shaft designed to replace the factory 2-piece driveshaft with a lighter, stronger solution. Weighing approximately half of the stock unit, this driveshaft features larger, greaseable, and replaceable u-joints, providing durability and smooth operation. Rated for up to 650 WHP and a maximum critical speed of 150 MPH, it delivers enhanced responsiveness by eliminating the up-and-down movement of the stock hanger bearing during acceleration.

Note:Some driveshaft failures in 2003–2007 Subaru WRX and STI models have been traced to worn or failing subframe, differential, or transmission mounts/bushings. Excessive drivetrain movement caused by these components can result in the driveshaft striking the rear brace, typically 11–12 inches from the differential. This is a maintenance- and age-related issue, not a defect with the Driveshaft Shop product itself. Driveshafts installed on vehicles with compromised mounts may experience damage, and such damage is not covered under warranty. Driveshaft Shop recommends inspecting and replacing worn mounts and bushings to ensure the longevity and safety of your drivetrain.
