The 1-piece driveshaft for the Subaru WRX STI is a 2.75″ carbon fiber shaft engineered for maximum performance. Weighing just 12.2 lbs—approximately half the weight of the factory 2-piece driveshaft—this lightweight design improves throttle response and reduces drivetrain vibration.

Constructed from high-modulus carbon fiber tubing with 6061-T6 aluminum ends, the driveshaft features larger, replaceable u-joints and is rated for up to 850 WHP and 180 MPH. Its compact design ensures full compatibility with all factory shields, plates, and covers without any modifications. Along with increased responsiveness, the 1-piece design noticeably reduces cabin noise compared to the stock setup.

Note:Some driveshaft failures in 2003–2007 Subaru WRX and STI models have been traced to worn or failing subframe, differential, or transmission mounts/bushings. Excessive drivetrain movement caused by these components can result in the driveshaft striking the rear brace, typically 11–12 inches from the differential. This is a maintenance- and age-related issue, not a defect with the Driveshaft Shop product itself. Driveshafts installed on vehicles with compromised mounts may experience damage, and such damage is not covered under warranty. Driveshaft Shop recommends inspecting and replacing worn mounts and bushings to ensure the longevity and safety of your drivetrain.
